Our History

• J.H. Whitney & Co. (“Whitney”) was established in 1946 by John Hay Whitney as one of the first private equity firms in U.S.

• Whitney pioneered the private equity industry and has been involved in the alternative investments business for 60 years

• Whitney has successfully raised six private equity funds with long history of performance excellence

• Whitney began public market activities in 1996 with the launch of our first hedge fund

• J.H. Whitney Investment Management, LLC (“JHWIM”) was formed in 2004 to manage all the hedge fund activities of the firm

• JHWIM has developed a range of Single Manager Funds and Fund of Funds with over $2.5bn currently under management

• JHWIM separated from J.H. Whitney & Co. on December 1, 2006

• JHWIM is based in New York, Connecticut, San Francisco, and Singapore
